Children’s consent for information society services (Article 8):
The GDPR sets the age of consent for children at 16 years old when it comes to processing their personal data in relation to information society services (e.g., social media, online gaming, etc.).
However, member states can choose to lower this age, but it cannot be below 13 years old.

As a result of the EU law implementation for example: in Spain, the age of consent for information society services is set at 14 years old, while in Poland, Germany and the Netherlands, it’s 16 years old, and in Great Britain, it’s 13 years old.
When processing personal data of children, organizations must consider the national laws of the relevant EU member state(s), as well as the specific context and purpose of the data processing. Additionally, they must ensure that appropriate safeguards and protections are in place, such as obtaining verifiable parental consent, providing age-appropriate privacy notices, and implementing data minimization principles.

It’s worth noting that in Great Britain, the new Data Protection Bill is at a very advanced legislative stage, which will replace previously implemented EU regulations once it receives royal assent.

The AI Act

UK GDPR

It gives consumers the right to cancel their purchase within 14 days of receipt and receive a full refund. It also requires businesses to provide clear and concise information about the goods or services, including their total cost, delivery time, and cancellation policies. Online businesses must also provide customers with a confirmation of their order and a written copy of the terms and conditions. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in legal action and damage to the business’s reputation.
